More than 90 dogs removed from Detroit-area home

When i read about this i was horrified it says that the dogs started with just 2 how can that be its just a excuse. This man should be put to death i dont give a shit if thay think hes mad he should be killed in a horrible way as horrible as possivle. Have a read.

A man kept more than 90 dogs - mostly Chihuahuas - in a suburban Detroit home that from the outside looked generally well kept but inside was filled with feces and trash, authorities said Thursday.
Neighbors in the past had complained of an odor, but this week was the first time Dearborn officials got inside. On Wednesday and Thursday, crews wearing masks to help them breathe carried dogs from the tow-story home.
"There's trash from floor to ceilling," said Nick Siroskey, director of residential services for the city. "There's faces and urine throughout the entire house. Basement, first level, second level."
City workers, along with Friends for the Dearborn Animal Shelter, removed 42 ailing and feces- covered dogs from the home Wednesday. They returned Thursday and found about 50 more dogs.
The 56-year-old man who was living in the house was taken to a local hospital for observation.
His familey, which lives in Florida, was involed in his care and cooperating with officials.
The man's sister told officials that she believed he initially had two dogs in the home and that they may have reproduced, Siroskey said. Misdemeanor animal cruelty charges were possible, but Siroskey said the man appears to have mental health issues that could be a factor in the case.
Outside, the lawn was neatly cut and the bushes were manicured. Neighbors and investigators said the smell of urine, noticeable from the street Thursday, may have been contained previously because windows were closed and covered.
"There was a little bit of a smell, but it was just like a person that doesn't keep their house up," said Abe Baydoun. "He didn't take care of himself, personally, but he took care of the outside of his house."
Baydoun, 25, lives across the street and said he only had seen two of the man's dogs outside.
"It just seemed like there was 5 or 6," he said
Police Chief Ronald Haddad said officers found piles of feces and fleas inside the house. The dogs, which were being examined at the animal shelter, appear to have been unattended and were in various stages of health.
Crews pulled bags full of trash from the home to clear pathways inside, and dogs sat in cages outside before being taken to the shelter. The house was deemed unfit for human habitation and the city likely will seek to tear it down, Siroskey said.
On friday, Siroskey said police were called to the home by a neighbor who spotted some kittens in a hole in the backyard, and the officer who responded reported that it seemed like there were many dogs inside. Animal control authorities got the case and, after obtaining a warrant, investigators went inside Wednesday.
"Sometimes you have no clue how many pets are in a house," Siroskey said.

Zoo's snow leopard has twin cubs

I love this story when i read it on BBC news i was so happy to no that one of the most rare'ist big cats has had not 1 but 2 cubs its brill snow leopards are one of the most beautiful animals ever and they should not be so rare but they are and need help so this is so cool.

Twin snow leopard cubs have been born for the first time in Wales at the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Conwy.

The rare creatures arrived there a month ago , but have been kept under wraps until now to make sure they bond with their first time mom Otilia.

The female, along with mate Szechuan, are at the zoo in Colwyn Bay as part of an European breeding programme.

It is estimated that there are as few as 4,ooo snow leopards remaining in the wild.

Keepers have been watching the young family around the clock in case the mother failed to rear her cubs, but now they are four weeks old it is thought human intervention is not needed.

The twins have opened their eyes, and will be introduced to solid foods in the next few weeks.

Members of the public have still not seen them though, and they are expected to be the star attraction when they do finally venture out of their den.

The Welsh Mountain Zoo's zoological director Nick Jackson said: " The birth on any animal at the zoo is a cause for excitement, but the snow leopards are so beautiful and so threatened in the wild that this is very special event".

Names will be chosen for the cubs once their gender ha been determined at about three months old.

Otilia was born in Tallin Zoo in Estonia in April 2005 whilst Szechuan was born at Szeged Zoo in Hungary in May 2005 - they arrived at Colwyn Bay three years ago.

Sex attacker's sentence reviewed

The sentence of a serial sex attacker who preyed on women in south - west London for more than two decades is to be reviewed by the Attorney General.

Kirk Reid was jailed for life in June and ordered to serve at least seven -and - a - half years after his conviction for two rapes and 24 sexual assaults.

The 44 - year - old children's football coach from Balham, Clapham and Tooting.

Baroness Scotland is to consider whether his term was unduly lenient.

Mark Clarke, the Tory parliamentary candidate for Tooting, was one of several people who complained to the Attorney General that the sentence was too light.
